AUBURN 3rd GRADE VISIT MUSEUM

Every one of the 83 children of Auburn 3rd Grade enjoyed their tour of the Library & Museum. This is an experience that will remain with many of these children throughout their lives.

Annual Membership

Dear Friends of Auburn Historical Society:

                    It's August and past due time to renew your Auburn Historical Society membership. We thank you for your support in the past and sincerely ask for your support once again in order that we might continue to work to make the Auburn Museum and Historical Village even better.

                    The membership fee is $10.00 per person yearly. Membership includes free admittance to the Museum through out the year.

Richelieu-Bucksville Day - Was held on Sunday May 18th, 2008 at the Museum. A great day which brought back memories of old. Addie Burns Hutcheson, who is 96 years young, shared many memories with many from Bucksville and Richelieu. Oh! she has such a clear memory of her youth.

Humanities speaker - Hugh Ridenour gave a very informative discussion on the topic on "A Surgeon's Tale - Life and Death in the Orphan Brigade." For Further Information & Pictures:

During the month of February the Auburn Cub Scout Pack 540 visited the Museum. Cubs and parents alike really enjoyed the visit. The many artifacts were of great interest but the kids in particular were in awe of the 'one room school.' I think the parents were taken by surprise too.

Groups are always welcome to the Museum. Arrangements can also be made, outside of the normal 1:00 to 5:00 pm hours, by contacting 270-542-4677.

Thank you. Your response to this years membership has been wonderful. As we stand we have 150 members including Corporate, Business & Individual membership.

Mission Statement

The Auburn Museum's major function will be to discover, collect, preserve and exhibit materials which will help to establish or illustrate the history of Auburn and the surrounding communities.  Preserving Auburn's history is the Society's broad purpose.  More specifically it strives top promote the cultural and educational needs of its residents through community awareness.
